SONIA MARIALUCE POSSENTINI

Sonia Maria Luce Possentini was born in Canossa (RE), lives and works between Canossa (RE) and Pigneto sul Secchia (MO). Graduated in History of Art from the DAMS and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, she attended the school of illustration at Sarmede with Stepan Zavrel and the illustration course of Kveta Pakovskà of the Teatrio Cultural Association of Venice. He received scholarships from the Magnani Rocca Foundation in Mamiamo (PR) and Olands Grafiska Skola. Painter and illustrator, she took part in numerous solo and group exhibitions, publishing illustrated books, covers and posters for Fatatrac, La Margherita Edizioni, Kite Edizioni, Mine-Edition, Grimm Press, Giunti, Mondadori and Sonzogno. He has received prizes and awards in Italy and abroad, including the Silver Award in the Illustration Competition West 49 competition, promoted by the Illustrators Society of Los Angeles. His book Un bambino (Kite Edizioni, 2011) was selected by IBBY Italia and candidate for BIB – Biennial of Bratislava. In 2012 she was the testimonial of the Invisible Cities project within the Biennial of Literature and Culture for Children promoted by the Veneto Region. In 2014 he won the Pippi First Prize with the work published by Fatatrac “The alphabet of feelings” poems by Janna Carioli. He is Professor of Illustration at the International Comics School of Reggio Emilia and at the University of Padua, Master in illustration for children and aesthetic education: for a pedagogy of iconic reading.
