Eva Montanari
Eva Montanari was born in Rimini, five minutes from the sea. As a child she loved reading and making up stories with images and words.
She is now an author and illustrator and lives between Rimini and Milan. Since 2000 her books have been published in Italy, the United States, England, China, Taiwan, Brazil, Spain, France, Germany, Japan and also translated into Portugal, Korea, Croatia, Finland, Turkey, Thailand and Argentina. He has created drawings for calendars, magazines, covers, posters and wallpapers, exhibited in collective and personal exhibitions in various countries. He works with traditional techniques: pencils, chalks, oil colors, acrylic tempera and loves to create polymaterial sculptures. His works have been selected for the exhibition of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, “Original Art” – Society of Illustrators (New York), International Illustration Exhibition of Sarmede, Croatian Biennal of Illustration, Nami Island Exhibition, Ilustrarte ( Portugal), Sharjan Book Fair (UAE), Little Hakka international Picture Book (China).
Among the awards received:
Alpi Apuane Award, Primavera Primavera Prize, Sardinia Prize, Roberta Maloberti Prize, Cassa di Risparmio di Cento Prize, Turin Book Fair Award, Spanish Ministry of Culture Award, Little Hakka prize.
For about fifteen years he has been involved in schools and libraries throughout Italy.
He has taught illustration courses for adults and aspiring illustrators in Italy: – ARS in Fabula – Academy of Fine Arts (Macerata) – International School of Sarmede (TV) – Illustrators Association (Milan) -Artelier (Padua) -IED (Milan) -Illustramente (Palermo) -OPENART (Cagliari)
